peruvianus
This was the species that got me into collecting. The wonderful blue colors coming from the glaucous coating, the big ribs exposing the epidermis. The Long central and radial spines that contrasted with the greens and blues. Having a garden full of massive white flowers has been so rewarding. The scent at night would attract bees, but instead attracts cactus collectors. Some people would say they all look the same, and they just don’t have the eye. Get the eye. Have the vision. See it. Be able to determine that one peruvianus can look just ever so different from the other. Either pictures of an old clone from Peru thats grown for hundreds of years, or plants that found their way to Spain or Australia or the US. Such great genetics to start with before we even got to the beautiful seed grown options. Look through these different plants and tell me you can’t see their varied beauty.
