Trichocereus terscheckii Complex
This is the section of our larger friends of the garden. The thick, and heavily spined forms that make up the T. terscheckii complex. A variety of species ranging from T. terscheckii / validus / tarijensis / pasacana / taquimbalensis/ werdermannianus. There’s so many things attractive to this form and shape that makes many of us collect from these species. I think one of the main factors is the girth. We all want to see something like a Saguaro, but without the need to grow it for 100 years. We love the spination on them, so aggressive and wild looking. Their ability to impress when upclose is easy, and then from far away. For those of you that grow in somewhat colder climates, this could be your chance to grow something in ground. But it will take some experimenting. . It’s such a versatile plant to grow in so many zones.
